Support the local community and the children of Niños de Guatemala. The adventure begins on a chicken bus (local bus for transportation) and ride to the community of San Lorenzo el Cubo. It is approximately  20 minutes from Antigua Guatemala and a whole world apart from Antigua and Ciudad Vieja.

Itinerary:

1st stop: We will visit the home of one of the families whose child is enrolled at our school. The father is a local carpenter and will visit his workshop to learn about this type of work and industry in Guatemala. 

2nd stop: Meet the mother of the enrolled child and learn how to make muñecas Quitapenas (worry dolls). These are handmade by 80% of the mothers of our school and this is how they make a living!  The best part is that you will be able to make your own worry doll by the end of the visit. Not as easy as it looks! 

3rd stop: We will visit one of our schools, El Porvenir, where you will meet the children and take a tour of the school to learn about our programs while enjoying a snack. 

Return to Antigua around noon with private transportation
