The trip begins after leaving the rendezvous at 07:00 hours then driving over the Demerara Floating Bridge to
Parika.  An exciting boat ride up the mighty Essequibo River provides much contrast to the quiet visit to the ruins of a 17th century Dutch Fort on Fort Island.
Stop over for approximately ½ hour at the mining town of Bartica for some shopping and sightseeing.  Then onto Baganara Island Resort for an appetizing lunch and leisure time to unwind.
