Join SHEVA and support the healthy development of thousands of women. Through SHEVA’s program, Tejiendo Redes, countless women between ages 13 – 40 years old are educated on the benefits of technology, and more specifically, on the use of cellular phones with access to the internet. 

1 out of every 8 Guatemalans possesses a smart phone, however, more than half only use voicemail and text messaging (SMS) functions. Through 2.5 hour training sessions, SHEVA educates women on the appropriate use of smart phone technology, how to easily and efficiently search and locate information to be connected and informed about the world. Through these sessions, women are empowered to take control and develop tools with which they may reach their independence and develop their highest potential.

Volunteers at Tejiendo Redes:

• Provide support during training sessions
• Collect information from women participants
• Take photos of the trainings
• Provide support to SHEVA’s office in the areas of communications as well as administrative tasks
• For summer 2016, there will be qualitative research study opportunities for students looking to obtain university credits. This opportunity is reserved for students (ie.
